From idea to first listing in a weekend

A two-day plan for students and creators: pick a narrow problem on Saturday, publish a finished listing by Sunday evening.

The main reason first products never launch is scope. A weekend is enough time if you deliberately choose something small.

Saturday morning: pick a problem you have already solved for someone for free. That is your product. If three people have asked you the same question, that question is a listing.

Saturday afternoon: build the thing itself. One document, one spreadsheet, or three short recordings. Resist adding a bonus module. Finished beats complete.

Sunday morning: write the listing. Title names the buyer and the outcome. Description opens with what they will be able to do, then what is inside, then who it is not for. That last line increases conversion because it makes the rest believable.

Sunday afternoon: cover image and price. A clean cover with readable text at thumbnail size beats an elaborate illustration. Price at the low end of your band for launch.

Sunday evening: publish and send it to five people directly. Not a broadcast — five individual messages. Your first reviews come from people you actually know, and those reviews are what make strangers buy.
